Harrison County Parks & Recreation is conducting a Community Dance Night every Tuesday at the Harrison County Recreation Complex - 4H Chenter. Introduction to Square Dancing for ages 6 to 90 for singles, couples and children. Beginner classes will be held from 6pm-7:15pm, and advanced classes will be held 7:15pm-8:30pm. There will be a choreographed demonstration of Ballroom Dancing for those interested in the classes. The cost is $3.00/adults, $5.00/couples and $1.00/students. The initial visit is FREE.

Tickets are available now to help benefit a fund to offset medical expenses for Terri Lynn Shuman. Tickets are $40.00 each. Celebrate the 4th of July close to home in Buckhannon with a fun filled evening and some of the best fireworks around at the Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Celebration on Thursday July 3rd, The event will be held at Buckahhon-Upshur High School football stadium. You're invited to join the Old Fashioned Fairview July 4th Celebration Friday July 4th at Town Park in Fairview. The schedule of events kick-off at 7:45am with registration for the Ray Hedrick 5K Run that begins at 8:30am. The Grand Parade will be underway at 10am followed by a performance from the Fairview Community Band. The day long events which include guest speaker Natalie Tennant, games, contests & cake walks, will conclude at 9:30pm with a fireworks display. All activities are free. The Main Street Fairmont 4th of July Celebration will be held Friday July 4th at Pallatine Park. Festivities will begin at 4pm with a parade downtown beginning at 5pm. There will be musical entertainment provided by the JR Farley Band from 4p-6p, Carolina Rain at 6:30pm & Trick Pony will perform at 8:30pm. Governor Joe Manchin will welcome Olympic Gold Medalist Mary Lou Retton at 9:15pm. Fireworks will be provided over the Mon River at
10:15m.

The Nationwide Players Cup Golf Tournament is teaming up with Harrison County Catholic Schools and you can help. The tournament, at Pete Dye Golf Club, is scheduled July 7th-13 will give 100% of ticket revenue back to HCCS if you select them as your chosen charity when you purchase a ticket to the event. The Jewel City Church located on Route 20, Haywood Road in Shinnston presents the 8th Annual Bike Sunday & Biker Round-Up July 12-13. The event begins Saturday with the Round Up Charity Ride at 3pm. Registration begins at noon with the ride benefitting St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival will host the 10th Annual 5K Run Saturday July 19th on Main Street in Uptown Clarksburg beginning at 8:30am. The race will take runners through the business and residential areas of Clarksburg & Glen Elk. Stop by the festival office & pick up an entry form. Pittsburgh Plate Glass (PPG) will hold it's annual picnic for those who worked at Stonewood 12 Works. Anyone who worked at the Stonewood plant, their spouses & immediate family members may attend. The Taylor County Food Drive is underway at Vintage Bowling Lanes on Route 50 East, Grafton, to benefit the citizens of Taylor County and its food bank thru August 31, 2008. All are being asked to bring 2 cans of food or bring one box item and receive a free bowling game.
